Grant Program Overview:

What are Micro Recycling Centers (MRCs)?

MRCs are local facilities that play a crucial role in diverting waste from landfills, promoting resource recovery (e.g. plastic recycling, food waste composting and BSFL), and fostering a sustainable future. They collect various waste materials, process them responsibly, and often create valuable products for reuse.

Why Support MRCs?

By starting an MRC, you can contribute to a multitude of positive outcomes:

  • Reduce Environmental Impact: Divert waste from landfills, minimize greenhouse gas emissions, and conserve natural resources.
  • Empower Your Community: Create local jobs, support waste pickers, and promote a culture of environmental responsibility.
  • Drive Economic Growth: Generate revenue through waste processing and sale of recycled materials.

Who can Apply?

The Wastefree23 MRC Grant program is open to passionate individuals and registered organizations residing in any country. We are looking for applicants with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and community development, along with a clear vision and plan for establishing and managing a successful MRC.
