WasteFree23 Certification

WasteFree23 Certification

Become a Certified WasteFree Organization

The WasteFree23 (WF23) Certification recognizes organizations that take practical, measurable action to reduce, recover, and responsibly manage the waste generated through their operations.

Through training, appropriate equipment, and effective waste management processes, WF23 works with organizations to build systems that prevent waste from becoming a burden on the environment and instead turn waste into valuable resources.

What Does It Mean to Be WasteFree?

A WasteFree organization takes responsibility for the waste it generates.

It has systems in place to:

  • Reduce waste at its source
  • Separate and process different waste streams
  • Recover and reuse valuable materials
  • Responsibly manage unavoidable waste
  • Train employees in waste reduction and resource recovery
  • Ensure that recovered materials are put to beneficial use

WF23 Certification recognizes organizations that have implemented these practices as part of their normal operations.
